We can’t change the policy but we care what you think

There have been a wide range of feelings about the Tobacco-Free policy at OHSU. Some people feel it is for the best because of second-hand smoke and wanting to promote our mission of health and healing. Others are angry because they feel their personal rights have been threatened. Many have expressed concern about distressed patients and family members and how they will cope without tobacco. (This site addresses support for employees and students; however, there are many activities planned for assisting patients, family members and guests as well.)

OHSU Human Resources is interested in hearing about how this policy affects you personally. They want to make sure you know that, unless a person threatens to harm themselves or others, all communications are strictly confidential. If they have a way to reach you, you will get a response to your comments. Share your point of view at: free@ohsu.edu.
